What Is a Trading Rebate?

Summary

A trading rebate gives you back part of the trading fees you already pay. The broker pays a partner for referring you, and under its partner programme the broker pays part of that to you.

We earn a partner commission when you sign up through our links. Trading carries financial risk.

Every trade has a cost, such as the spreadSpreadThe small gap between the buy price and the sell price. It is part of what a trade costs.More in the glossary or a commissionCommissionA fixed fee some accounts charge for each lot you trade.More in the glossary. A rebateRebatePart of your trading fees that comes back to you.More in the glossary returns a small part of that cost to you.

You open your account through our partner link. We do not add a fee on top.

Where does the rebate money come from?

Brokers and exchanges reward the companies that refer new traders to them. That company is called a partnerPartner / IBA company that refers traders to a broker. The broker pays it a share of the fees.More in the glossary.

The partner can share part of its reward with the traders it referred. That shared part is your rebate.

The money comes from the broker's side. It is not a new charge on your trades.

We do not hold your money, and we have no wallet.

How is a forex rebate different from a crypto rebate?

At Exness, a rebate is a share of the reward Exness pays its partner. Exness calculates it in its own rebate system.

The partner sets the rate and how often it is paid: daily, weekly or monthly.

Crypto exchanges pay partners a share of the trading fees their referred users pay. Many crypto exchanges call a fee rebate a kickbackKickbackAnother word for a fee rebate, often used by crypto exchanges.More in the glossary.

At OKX, you only count as referred if you sign up with the partner's referral link or code.

How you receive a crypto rebate differs by exchange. Each exchange page on our site explains it, for example the OKX page.

How does RebateFX earn money?

The broker pays us a partner commission for referring you. Under its partner programme, the broker pays part of it to you as your rebate.

We keep the rest. We never hold or send your money.

You can see what you get back on each broker page, for example the Exness page.

These numbers come from our rate list, not from this guide. That way they stay up to date.

What a rebate cannot do

A rebate lowers the cost of a trade. It does not turn a losing trade into a winning one.

Trading carries risk. You can lose much more than any rebate gives back.

Paying more fees to get a bigger rebate still costs you more.

To see how this works at one broker, read How Exness rebates work.
